I am a mixed media artist who also writes prose. My art often comes out of something I've written or read, and my writing is very visual. Much of the art in this store is from a series, Love Letters to Civilization, that I've been "writing" over the last few strange years. Each page has become a meditation on the moment. I give myself loose rules—all one colorway; only hand-painted papers; each piece the same dimension; focus on a political issue. Most recently I have begun cutting up my collages and re-configuring them. This feels like realism to me. Art/life/nature is always moving and changing, and I am simply trying to keep in the flow.
